The dissolution of the 7th Assembly was announced on Wednesday by Hon. Tasiu Maigari, Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly.
Tasiu announced the election shortly after giving his farewell speech, calling the 7th Assembly members among the best the state has ever produced.
The Speaker also gave praise to the outgoing governor of Katsina, Aminu Bello Masari, for his fatherly assistance, counsel, and collaboration with the 7th Assembly.
In the meantime, Tasiu has revealed that throughout the course of the last four years, members of the 7th Assembly passed a total of 54 measures, with the Masari administration approving more than 80% of them.
He added that only 74 of the roughly 324 motions that were voted could be put into effect by the government.
Some of the bills passed as disclosed by the Katsina Speaker include: Katsina State House of Assembly Commission Law,
discrimination law against persons with disability, law promoting children access to basic education and connected matters, the revenue harmonization law, among others
