Because of rumors that I despise women, I lost an endorsement deal, says Nedu


Controversial Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, better known by his stage name Nedu, is an actor and media figure from Nigeria. He has discussed how rumors that he is a misogynist cost him a multimillion-naira sponsorship agreement.

On the most recent episode of the audiovisual podcast The Honest Bunch, which he, Husband Material, and Deity Cole co-host, the comedian made this revelation.

“I almost signed an endorsement three weeks ago, but I lost it,” he admitted. I’m not in a foul mood. For a little moment, I didn’t feel horrible, but I snapped.

Why did I freak out? Because the myth that Nedu despises women was widely accepted. And it is a brand of beverages. If this is what people are saying, then our female consumer won’t like it, the brand declared.

Nedu berated what he described as the double standard of those who accused him of liking women too much in his skits but turned around to say he spread hate against women in his podcast.
